Vienna turquoise is a glass made by
compressing an aluminum phosphate precipitate that has been colored with copper
oleate. We could find very information on this imitation turquoise glass.
A website maintained by the Hecettepe University's Department of Mining
Engineering in Turkey reports that Vienna Turquoise was once made in the
countries of Austria, Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic), France and England.
We could find no current production source for the material.
We are intrigued by this glass and would like to know more about
it. Please contact us if you can help to fill in the gaps.
